Black Pearl Apartment Hotel

Fantastic apartment that was very spacious, well equipped and has a very comfortable bed and powerful shower in the bathroom. Very welcoming and helpful staff in reception who gave us some welcoming Christmas treats left by the owner of the hotel on our arrival. The location is perfect and you can walk everywhere you need to go in Reykjavik within a couple of minutes and there are some fantastic places to eat literally just steps from the front door. This was our third time staying at The Black Pearl over the last 10 years, each stay has been amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay there again.

A fantastic place to stay in Reykjavik. I think this is our fourth or fifth stay at the Black Pearl in Reykjavik going all the way back to 2015. The suites are large, extremely well equipped and very, very comfortable. The staff at reception are so friendly and welcoming, as well as very knowledgeable. It is located right in the middle of Reykjavik, right next to the harbour, so there are plenty of fantastic things to do as soon as you step outside the door. There is a fantastic bakery called DEIG that is practically next door that does wonderful bagels, donuts and pastries. The Reykjavík Art Museum Hafnarhús is also just across the road.

First was the location. Our bus from the airport dropped us off at Bus Stop #4 which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel. This bus stop is also the one you will use for all of the tour shuttles you will probably book on your trip. For getting to the center of the city it was an easy 5-10 minute walk with restaurants, shops and popular points of interest. Second was the staff. Our only interaction with staff was when we checked in and out and when we had to ask a question mid-trip about scheduling our shuttle back to the airport. Everyone was warm and friendly and made us feel welcomed. Third and a very import one is the apartment. The apartment was very modern looking and in almost perfect condition. There was a touch screen panel that controlled the lighting and heating. You could also control both within each room using the switches. The kitchen had more than we needed as it was a short trip and we spent most of our time exploring and eating out. But if you are planning on cooking while you stay it has everything you could need. It all looked brand new. Gas stove and oven top, good size fridge and freezer (make sure you check the black book for mini bar prices.) pots and pans as well as all the plates and utensils you would need. The bed was very comfortable for my taste. Firm mattress, but you still felt like you were sleeping on a cloud. I thought there was plenty of closets if you need them. The bathroom was just as modern as the rest of the apartment. There was also a big balcony off the living room which was nice to step out on to get a breath of cold crisp air. But we didn't spend much time out there. Our room only had a view of the building next to it. In summary, this place was meant to be a place where we can sleep and get a couple of hours throughout the day in between different activities to rest and regroup. I would definitely stay here again when I visit next.

The room was beautifully designed, modern, and incredibly spacious. It features a digital system to control lighting and temperature, making it very convenient to adjust settings with just a touch. Kitchen: Fully stocked with high-quality appliances, cookware, and utensils. The large refrigerator was a plus, offering plenty of storage space and even an ice maker. Bathroom: Strong water pressure with consistent hot water, making showers very comfortable. The building provides private parking (with a fee), which made it easy and safe to bring in luggage. However, parking spots are limited, requiring an advance reservation.

Black Pearl is a fabulous property with great staff, always available to provide information and assistance. They offer laundry services and wonderful breakfasts, all delivered to your apartment. The kitchen is full sized and well appointed with appliances, dishes, and serve ware. They offer private parking, accessible via a remote key fob; and once in, you have immediate and safe entry to the building and elevators. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to access. We highly recommend the Black Pearl Apartment Hotel!
